Apple stock shot up once the price was announced.. actually. Then people turned and tried to profit quickly.. given then abysmal performance of the entire market the last two weeks.

I was quite interested actually, but the lack of HD space and usb ports/camera/SD slot/multitasking made me kind of "ehh".Mekstizzle wrote:

So basically you were hyped up by the media machine but then realised it sucks, that puts you in the camp of how most people felt.Bevo wrote:

Nerp, I didn't have any expectations. I thought "interesting" but had no real desire or nagging to see how cool the new apple shit is.Mekstizzle wrote:

The others being the people who always thought this thing would be shit (me), and the small percentage who don't care and will buy it regardless, because it's Apple.
are you taking a piss?NateWiese wrote:

I'm sure some people are sacrificing a lot.
for example: getting 16gb instead of 84gb
i said utterly useless.Kmarion wrote:

I mean I have an iPhone and I love the little thing to death, but I would never be caught dead with a macbook pro.
I'll quote you when I'm speaking directly to you.11 Bravo wrote:

I would not think the person using this would not use it as a storage archive for their photography or musicBevo wrote:

A fair sampling of applications, music, videos and pictures would easily exceed 64g. Obviously it won't be used as a storage device but if I were say a photographer using it to view/show pictures while working an event I would hate to be limited by that amount of space.jsnipy wrote:

Why would you want to resize to fit to screen? Compromising picture quality because the lack of storage isnt very smart.Kmarion wrote:
An app would be able to import, resize it to fit, and look nicely on a 10 inch device in good quality (as a small file). When you stop thinking of it as a note/netbook then you will start seeing a bit more possibilities.
Edit: and probably geotag it as well.
Yes, but who has 10" pockets? You'd have to carry a knapsack/bag around 24/7 in the winterKmarion wrote:

Except they probably will, whether it was designed for it or not.Uzique wrote:
people will not be carrying ipads around in their back-pockets to get out at starbucks over their double-latte-moche-americanos-with-strawberry-whip. with an open world of thousands of apps and a wide use in design, photography and the home... it's aimed at a different market.

i dont mean tablet-technology as a whole, i mean if HP had been the company behind this highly-anticipated launch, and had produced the exact same gadget. people wouldn't question the purpose and design brief of it; they'd only have consumer questions. because it's apple though, the two polemic sides are either calling it the next lifestyle must-have or a redundant piece of technology with as much use as a 2000 year old piece of granite. fucking re-tar-ded.
It wasn't as ground-breaking as they were hyping it all up to be, in lots of peoples opinions. Including mine.
