I have a problem regarding some data that seems to be lost from an SD card.  I was viewing my holiday snaps on the missus' netbook from an 8gb SD card with no problem.  Popped the SD card into a digital photo frame to view them as a slide show, but nothing would appear.  Odd, I thought, so I stuck the card back into the netbook.  All the file names are still present (i.e photo1, photo2 etc...), but all the files show as 0 bytes in size, and are just black squares of blankness.  Also, where they used to appear as thumbnails, there is just a sign that says jpg now.  I am clueless as to how this happened as the card only went from the netbook (which runs on Linux if that is of any importance) to the pictureframe.  I would basically just like to know if anyone has any experience recovering data from an SD card and if anyone could advise me as to what to do!  I believe the data must still be in there somewhere as the card shows around 700mb used space.  Anyhow, thanks in advance for any help you guys could give me! (BTW if it is of any help, the camera the shots were taken on is a Vivitar 810hd)

Try the SD card on a Windows PC. Also make sure the lock switch isn't on

Finally got around to trying this, and it worked like a charm!  Cheers
