at a high res? recording video at 1920x1200 half-size records at 60fps without a hitch. 1920x1200 full size records at 60fps but stutters like hell. Any way around this?
Try recording to a separate harddrive.
That's an enormous resolution and a lot of raw data to write. Don't expect magic.

Tried that, didn't help
Fraps uses a lot of resources when it records. Best way is to reduce the graphics of the game you're playing. Try recording at 30fps, you won't see much difference after that point anyway and should help performance.

eh no I want to actually be able to play games while recording. 30fps sucks
It records at 30fps. It doesn't make the game 'play' at 30fps
Yes it doesPhatmatt wrote:

They get multitouch in an update? Seems like it should've come with it..
Try 40 fps.
It works for me.
It works for me.
30fps is the record speed... not the actual shown speed ingame...
anyhow,, if your PC isnt powerfull enough then lower gfx quality... you can't magically make your PC faster

Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
If you record at 30fps your in-game fps will be locked to 30. Also Lucien has a beefy computer

Unless you intend to watch the recording on a full HD TV their is no point recording at that size. If its for youtube you can screw it way back.
Think xfire has some form of gaming recording built in, you could give that a go.

Youtube has up to 720px movies now fyi... using fraps' setting for ½ size is smaller than that when recorded on a 1920x???? screen...JahManRed wrote:

1200 / 2 = 600
600 < 720
So yeah

wtf are you even going to do with a 1920x1200 bf2 1337 sniper movie anyway
Same as with all other "leet kill videos"... post them on youtube where nobody but yourself cares about themjsnipy wrote:

would have been in 1080p had I been able to record with fraps at that res, instead it was 960 by 600.
