I have now tried to hook up three different computers, all with newer components that has and could easily run them all, and yet no matter WHAT I do, the monitor doesn't get a picture. In one computer, a piece broke so the videocard doesn't even receive power, in the other one I couldn't tell if the videocard was getting power, but the monitor still stayed black, then finally on the final computer, the videocards fan was actually running, showing it got power, but the monitor still stayed black. To my knowledge I am doing everything completely and utterly correct, corresponding to plugging in the chords I mean. I have plugged and unplugged many computers and pieces of hardware many times, and never had ANYTHING like this happen. Anyone know whats going on?

I'm sure specs wouldn't much help, because at this point I already know all of my hardware is compatible, so theres no issue there.

If it's the same one that you've been trying..

I've switched monitors, and all cables.
Through desperation I'm now just fetching all the PSU's I can find, and for whatever reason switching them.
I'm so lost, lol.

ok, this is where you start posting specs; by that i mean, look on the PSU, and give the wattage number. count the pins that connect to the motherboard (usually 20) and so on . . .

Well see I feel like I don't need to, because all of these computers worked before, and suddenly stopped working. Like the parts I have in the 3rd computer right now, were the same parts I had in it when I stopped using it (I stopped using it because it was slow and I got a new comp). So I cant see how compatibility can be an issue and whatnot.

So prove that I do need to, knowing that my computer parts all are compatible to each other, I'm not saying I won't, I just don't know for what other reason I need to get you the specs.

What's the point of asking for help, if you don't cooperate with the people trying to help you? Give the damn specs or gtfo.

No shit you don't have to prove anything to me, I asked for help and you came here the hell do you expect?
I obviously don't understand why I'd have to give you my comp. specs when all my hardware is compatible, so instead of being a world class prick and denying my question, why don't you go ahead and enlighten me, oh great computer wizard.

If its so necessary that you need the specs, then of course I'll go get them. I just wanted to know basically how it would help? Whats wrong with that, it's not like I'm being resistant.

can you see the monitor OSD when you turn it on?

I cannot, pretty much depending on the monitor I use, I plug it into my computer, and the little light signaling that it's on either turns to a tan/peach color and stays that way, or turns green and just blinks.

My friend suggest you turning the Monitor on first.

But if seriously, what kind of power box do you use, sometimes a 550W is not enough even for a low end PC, especially if you have one of those hookups that the monitor power cord goes through your PC.

yep...
but if not, giving us your comp specs would help us help you (not that anyone probably will after you being such an ass.), if your not up for that small task, head down to your local computer repair shot and enjoy paying them way to much to help you.

u_u all I wanted to know, was what giving the specs would accomplish. Mainly because I'd have to go find all the parts and because I suck with computers, write everything down and try to understand it. It's mainly a hassle for me to do it, which was why I was curious if any good could come from it, or I would just give you all random information and have nothing happen.

It's a 400W by the way.

In the time you wrote down how you not want to post specs, you could have easily gotten and written them down.

Asking for help without stating your specs is like asking for help with your car without saying what model it is.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
