First, I hate math

Im trying to get my GED but i have SUCH a disliking of studying. Seriously, maybe its the reading from a book rather than a monitor. I sit down and ill start reading something and ill end up daydreaming about something else as im reading, and realise that none of it sank in.

Wtf is up with that?

honest advice, suck it up, just dont give yourself distractions. i hated studying and couldnt be bothered with it, and i was teaching myself further maths, not even revising. One week before the exams i deciced to go for it. Taught myself a years worth of advanced maths in a week.

edit: if you just go through it all thoroughly, any maths up to uni level (where i have no experience so cant really comment) is deceptively easy, just go through it step by step and its a peace of piss

Take notes as you read. When you finish reading a paragraph of substance, write down (in a notebook) the key points of it. This makes your brain process the information again, as you try and figure out what the important stuff is.

Probably his parents didn't like the public schools, and were too poor for private schools.

However homeschooling is hardly better, and now he has to pass the GED to be able to do anything, and to do that he actually has to have been properly educated, which he wasn't.

So if he stayed in real school he would have gotten the same mediocre education and still have gotten a diploma because they hand those things out like coupons so that they can inflate the graduation rates.
