I've got major problems. Using Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 for the last 2 years on this computer, no problem. Suddenly it says my word documents are having errors, and they all close (working on a paper at the time, I shat myself). I'm able to open them again after some time (the computer is running slow as shit at this point, taking 2 minutes to open my task-bar alone), but now, a day later, when I go to open any word file it says I do not have office installed. I cannot use any of the other programs either (not that I really care about Publisher and Outlook). I have tried to 'repair' the program using the software manager thing- no go; it never even finishes loading the list of programs

Now I think this may have something to do with me being unable to install the latest Service Pack (2, I believe) for an unknown reason. Well, the reason may be that this version of Vista (32-bit) is not legitimate, and neither is my Microsoft Office.

What are my options? Do I have a virus? Is my computer going to betray me? I'm freaking out.

this sounds a lot like when my hard drive started dying.

lol

Sounds like you've copied over some files and then it's come to the hurdle of not being a legitimate version of windows so the update has corrupted what you did have.

Although, hardware failure is a possibility.

I'd save all your important documents to a USB and reformat. If the errors continue, it's a hardware issue.
