Am I they only Player who Hates Gunships ?

I can fly them ok, Sometimes I get buck Fever and press home the Attack to far.( crash into Target )

It seems that usually a Gunner Pilot are seen paired and waiting for Helios spawn.

I figure ( hope ) they are squadies using voice, much more effective. So I rarely take it.

When I do, its hard to get a gunner, harder to find a good one and most pick up pilots suk. So I rarely take it.

Early in the Game I used to Froth and Foam at the mouth at the invulnerability of the Gunship and Rail at how often they killed me.

Then I thought.. ? it is a Gunship. That's why they made them, get over it !

Now ( somewhat bored of the Game ) I almost exclusively hunt Gunships.
I stalk them with mounted .50 cals and PKMs I never Use AA missiles. IDKY ? Just Seems wrong ?
I set ambushes, move my position a lot and just tag the SH*T out of them.
I usually score 4 to 6 per game.
Love to see that double kill.
When they hunt me. I know they are pissed about it.
The last 6 months since the patches that made them weaker I notice a lot more people using my techniques and Hides on Sharqie (SP) in particular.
That's cool, I just hate Gunships.

I am not that good a pilot, but i am an ok gunner. I won't stand there and get in a TK'ing match just to get in one, but when one is free, I enjoy it.

Use AT missiles. I've taken down more attack choppers with them than with the Stingers. Flares are useless vs a wire guided missile.

I ahve taken more out on Smoke Screen with the tow than any other weapon.

Any decent pilot will fly high enough to avoid TOW missiles. Maybe Smoke Screen is really open, though. I wouldn't know, because EA doesn't need more money.

I like killing choppers with tanks. If you can't hit them with a shell then switch to the 50cal as they fly over. but it is great when you hit them from across the map like on the chinese power plant. You have aim above them to compinsate for bullit drop. Stop pointing up a hill if you need to aim higher. I took out the same chopper crew three times IAR with a tank.

I get most chopper tank kills on wake for some reason, it is sweet. I know the feeling.

imo most ppl fly choppers way to high. I always thought the main advantage of helos is that terrain can be used to your advantage. Which means, dont fly stupid high in the sky routes to where your going, dont fly in the line of sight with aa guns, etc. Maybe its cuz people think they are invincible, who knows. Personally, i dont really fear helos cuz 9/10 the pilot has no tactical plan, even if hes a good pilot and the gunners generally suck.

Having a good gunner, and a pilot who flys for the gunner...is as rare as a forgiven teamkill.

I also love hunting helo gunships. That tank shell / two kill thing makes it all worth while.

I am a tank whore and it used to be that the sound of a gunship would send chills down my spine. But since the patch that weakened the chopper I now salivate when i hear them. I've gotten quite good at taking down gunships...One shot from my cannon and then a little machine gun fire and they are toast. Not that they don't get me any longer, but the odds are much closer to 1:1 for me when going up against choppers. Usually it will depend on whether or not I can hit them with my first cannon shot...if I do its over.

btw, if there is a good pilot/gunner combo they will kill me in a tank quite easily...over and over again. however this is rare and most times the gunner can't use the tv-missile really well and the pilot will continue on the same trajectory on his straffing run meaning that if i miss them as they approach me then i just swivel around and take them out on the other side.

I love 'em,especially the smoking ones because it's so easy to take them down with the M95.
The blackhawk has helped me to some of my greatest shots in BF2 - one shot - 5 kills...

i think on wake its easier to engage with against a chopper cos theres no where for it to hide... on other maps there are massive buildings that the pilot can use as cover bu8t then again the armor has nowhere to hidee...
