This stuff is so over my head it's not even funny.
I have a bluray drive on my laptop, Optiarc BC-5600S. I was told that I needed to get a firmware upgrade to play some blu-ray DVDs on my laptop (some movies like pineapple express or watchmen don't work, whereas adventureland would). I went to the wonderful google machine and I got a lot of confusing feedback.
Now I went http://www.sony-optiarc.eu/supportservi … 5600s.html here to try and get firmware 1.03, ignored all the "check your version" stuff and just tried to run the EXE. It tells me it's incompatible and to check with the manufacturer to get a firmware upgrade between the two.
I then go to dell to see what they have, and I have 3 options of firmware to choose. 10AB, 107B, and 108B. When I try out the 10AB one, it tells me my current version is 107B. This is all gibberish to me. What do I do here? Halp!
