I just got a friend to buy an i5 750, 4Gbs of Corsair XMS3 10666 and a P7P55D (I think it was the LX), I'm thinking of getting the same for myself only on a Rampage 3 formula motherboard... It's great value for money, the i5 750 is alot cheaper than a i7 920 and it performs on par on average, better in games even...wah1188 wrote:

I'm not really too clued up on computer parts. Why are people jizzing over the i5 i7's. I've still not got a quad core!
i7 is a CPU with 4 physical cores, and 8 threads, giving a virutal 8 cores, through some magic computer fairy wizzardness.wah1188 wrote:

i5 is a CPU with either 2 or 4 physical cores, without hyper-threading (the magic computer fairy wizzardness).
In simple terms, they're fucking fast.
maybe when you come to understand that it's not magic, your opinion will carry weight.Finray wrote:

I thought explaining just how hyperthreading works to someone whoburnzz wrote:

would be a bit much for them to handle.wah1188 wrote:

Computers are magic though.
