Just installed Windows 7 on a fresh 500Gb Maxtor, got everything installed. Started up spotify to listen to some music, it said that no sound card could be detected. Went on to the Creative Website and downloaded the correct driver. Started spotify, the song was playing, but still couldn't hear anything. Speakers weren't plugged in . Plugged speakers in, playback stopped, then BDOS.

Restarted pc, installed driver again, this time it popped up asking to check for updates, update software said 'Creative Software AutoUpdate was unable to detect any Creative products attached to your computer. Started up spotify again, started a song, song played but no audio. Went to back of pc, unplugged speakers to make sure I hadn't put it in the wrong hole, put it back into correct hole...surprise surprise, BSOD.

Any thoughts on this matter guys? The sound card in question is a Creative Xfi XtremeMusic.

One thing I thought could be the problem is there is an install of Vista on the other HDD in my pc. Could this be causing the problem? The sound worked fine before.

Obviously you need to install drivers for your sound card or you WILL get trouble. If I understood what u typed, you haven't succeeded in installing drivers properly.

Uninstall your current drivers (unless you have installed what panzer suggested), install the support pack that panzer posted. Pick and choose what you want to install.

Protip: To find out what app each folder installs, open the folder and open the setup configuration file and at the top will be a line  that says "AppName=blahblah" and there will be the name of the application.

I was unable to install the CC Launcher (the one from the Creative website)  on my install of Win 7. The CC Launcher in the support pack was able to be installed and works flawlessly so far.  And so does everything else.I got the support pack from here if you can't dl it from rapidshare.
