I would like to be able to talk to other squad leaders.  for instance say im capturing a flag and all my guys are dead, but another squad is close.  I could give a shout to the squad leader for help or if one squad has alll their guys in the jets or attack heli I could call for support?   what do ya think?

good idea but dont u think it would be better if EA and DICE went back in time and released this game 2 months later when the balence and bugs werent in it along with the other features it was supposed to have
my guess is ur idea was probably cut out to save time

That would be a very cool feature.  Personally I think that the feature may need you to use a lot more bandwidth, but I am not for sure.  I know that Xbox Live has a lot of people talking at once, but I do not know how that works.

If we did go back in time, it would take EA/DICE longer then two months to fix all of their bugs, but I agree that would be nice.

hell ya,its annoying when you need air support from another squad to take out that tank that has you and your squad pinned, but you cant type a message in fear of someone running up on you while your finger is off the trigger.

this would be a great addition to the game, if it were implemented correctly. i'm guessing the reason it wasn't included originally is that no one came up with a way to streamline the comm net.

imagine being a squad leader of a full outfit, and having to talk to your squadmates, and 8 other squad leaders, and the commander all at once. even if you were just listening, the voice net would be a jumbled mess of interfering messages.

to solve this problem, firstly inter-squad comms need their own voice channel [obviously]. then, either make the inter-squad channel a proximity one, where only nearby squad leaders can hear you, or make it so that the squad leader has to go into the squad screen and select which squad he wants to transmit to [the same way a commander selects a squad to give orders to]

I think it would just be nice to have a 'squad net' and 'command net'.  the squad leader can always hear talk on both nets, but he needs to push different keys to talk on either net.
The commander only has access to the command net and the squad members only have access to the squad net.  That would be a vast improvement to me.
