I've noticed this sometimes too. I've been working on my knife skills to get my veteran badge, and more than once I've stabbed at someone, seen the puff of dust that shows you hit, and run on past him to the next target only to get mown down from behind cause the bastard didn't die!Sgt.Davi wrote:

damn that sucked. It must be a glitch. 2 times to the leg and one to the chest.

It's kind of like the bullet drop debate in BF2. Some people swear there is none, and some people swear there is. Personally, I beleive there is, mostly because if I am at someone in the prone position at a distance and shoot I will miss, but if I aim just a tad above them it hits them.

There is bullet drop. Try sitting on on the carrier in Dalian and sniping at the AA emplacement on the beach. You can't see the guy on it but you can check your map to see if it's occupied or not. Then you will see there is bullet drop.Cougar wrote:

I found a near empty server with one afk guy in it a little while ago and decided to do some experimenting on headshots. I tested which guns kill with one shot to the head and which guns don't. Anywho, I thought I'd share my findings as it seems many people don't know how powerful the guns are. I was only able to test the UMSC side guns and all unlocks. I was not able to test the MEC or PLA regulars so the list is a little incomplete.
Spec Ops Kit: All Spec Ops guns - no one shot kill, not even the Scar-L
Sniper Kit: All Sniper guns - well duh, all one shot headkill
Assault Kit: M16A2 - no| G3 - yes| F2000 - yes
Anti-Tank Kit: MP5 - no| Dao - yes| P90 - no
Medic Kit: M16A2 - no(duh)| L85A1 - yes| G36E - no
Support Kit: M249 SAW - no| PKM - yes| MG36 - no
Engineer Kit: M11-87 - yes| Mk3A1 - yes| MP7 - no
Hope people find this useful.
P.S. I know UBAR says damage for each weapon but I really have no clue what 30 damage means. I guess one shot kills occur between 30 and 34 damage. According to UBAR the M16A2 does 30 damage while the F2000 does 34 damage.

glad i have my expert knife so i dont' have to knife anymore, just pistol them to the head instead now, works most of the time
anyone know how big the hitbox for the head is? becuase sometimes i swear i pink them point blank in the head and they don't die

I once defended a flag i was capping from a squad of three people with three l85 headshots. They were coming down the hill towards Train on Karkand and I was proning near the fence. It only took three shots, cos none of them seemed to know where I was and at that distance it's easy to place a HS with the L85.
I got wiped out by arty seconds later, of course
