My mobo is an Asus P5N-E SLI nForce® 650i SLI
has anyone heard of someone not being able to run an ATI card on an nforce mobo ?
some of the reviews of those ati cards in the above links had people saying their cards would not work with older nforce boards.
any advice ?
I really want the 5770 with the after market fan/cooler but I may just go with another Nvidia card like an 9800 GTX to be safe unless you guys tell me otherwise.

ati cards will run fine on that mobo. Just remember that this mobo is terrible for overclocking the CPU.

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Fun fact, even HD 5870 experiences slowdowns in original Crysis at very high 1680x1050. Game jsut doesn't run too good on ATi. Warhead runs much better, but can't say it runs well at max.
If you think it runs smooth as butter at 30fps... thats your opinion. You clearly haven't seen it run at 60fps then.

I can't stand playing Crysis.. I have to stick everything on low and 1024x768 to get a decent FPS (read: over 60) and it looks terrible then.. if I put everything on max at 1280x1024 I get around 28 fps.. looks better, but is completely unplayable.GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:
