Long story short, I have a bunch of backed up DVDs on my hard drive.  Ideally I would like to be able to stream these directly to my tv via my 360, since my original plans of setting up a HTPC have fallen through.  The 360 does not natively support ISO files for playback, but if at all possible I would prefer this method, as it keeps all the extra features a DVD has, and isn't just the movie file, much like an AVI file would be.

My question is this, is there a third party program out there that can stream ISO files to the 360?  Ive read up on a few that are supposedly able to, but in actuality cannot.  If there is such a program, id greatly appreciate hearing about it, or if theres a backdoor method of getting this to work on the 360.

Thanks in advance

I dunno but I just googled it. which is prolly wot you could've done as well init? or maybe tell us which you've tried so we don't repeat ourselves.

edit: after googling 'streaming iso 360' on forums it looks like it's not possible to actually stream to the 360 if that's specifically what you want.

but good luck.

I have not tried that, although, that is kinda what i want to avoid.  I would much prefer to have the movie with the menu setups and all the bells and whistles, then to extract just the video file out of the DVD.  Thanks anyways

Basically I want to avoid having to extract the file into another format, as ISOs are much easier to keep as backups.  Guess I could always try mounting with the iso files and streaming it as though it were a DVD drive.

I tried to get this working for an age, and could not get it quite right.  I ended up getting a Patriot Box Office.  Works like a champ!

this is what i was going to suggest.  just mount it with alcohol and see if you can get to it from the xbox.  the annoying this is that you'll have to mount a vid before you watch it, so you can't just pick like its a library.
