America: Laziest Country on Earth

Let the Olympics rate each country’s elite athletes; the Daily Beast wanted to know which country had the laziest general populace. So they pitted 24 developed nations against each other in four statistical categories: calories consumed per day, television viewing, Internet usage, and aversion to sports. The “winners”:

1. The United States of America: It’s not even close. America ranked first in calories per day and TV viewing, and earned bronze in the other two categories, a staggeringly dominant non-performance.

2. Canada: They play plenty of sports, but the guys up north spent an average 43 hours online in December, good for gold in that category.
3. Belgium: The country known for its chocolate, waffles, and beer ranked second in calories consumed.
4. Turkey: The Turks claim gold in sports aversion, and finish just out of medal range in Internet usage.
5. Great Britain: The British don’t play sports, either. Plus, one survey declared English men terrible lovers, because they’re “too lazy.”

I agree. I'm up at 2am not studying for my 2 tests I have later today at 9am.

Don't watch much tv, but a lot of computer.... Eating meh, it varies even with a buffet style cafeteria at uni.

They have pizza almost every goddam day and its fucking addicting, been cutting back though lol. <3 pizza + bbq sauce

@wah. Sure there are, my parents are good examples, but I know a lot of lazy people. I'm really just lazy with schoolwork, I'm good with everything else:/

Aversion to sports it just a stupid category though. Someone spends enough time busting their ass at a desk job to no be able to sit around and play sports, and this makes them lazy? This could tie into internet useage too, depending on how they count it,

While I am not going to make any claims about all Americans, it is hard to take a study that would label someone who busts their ass working with their mind for 10 hours a day and comes home too exhausted to do much besides pick up fast food and vegge out for a few hours before going to sleep and doing it again the laziest person, while someone who doesn't work and does nothing but hang out at a park and kick a ball around is rated as the least lazy.

Sadly, I agree with yer statement about the United States. Since I am not on a sports team anymore, specifically track, my exercise has gone from running every day, to doing some push ups every now and then.
