Dude, before you go to see the counselors, try to remember as much as possible about those situations described.

Are there similarities?
Where are the differences?
What is the timeframe in which it happens?
What exactly happens?

Pay attention also to insignificant things.

All the best!

Yeah, whenever i have to go out somewhere that i don't normally do (basically not college) where as long as i eat everything exactly the same so for lunch i have to eat an apple and a sausage roll (maybe one and a half if i'm feeling more comfortable. Whenever go out any other time (not often) i can eat fine during the day... if i'm at home that is. Then about 3 hours before (if its at night/i'm awake in the morning) i feel nervous about it, then when i went to a party last week i had dinner literally 10 minutes before i was leaving and i managed to force down 1 mouthful of pasta.

Where are the differences?
It doesn't didn't happen with family (like going to a resturant) but now it does (but not as bad)

What exactly happens?
I feel sick/queasy and i can't let anything down and even though i'm so hungry i just feel as though i'm full, i can go an entire day without eating anything.

And this is just the eating in public thing but then theres the other stuff. Thanks for you're help

I´m no expert, but it sounds stress related as someone mentioned earlier. The real problem would be to find the reason for that stress.

What might help is a regular eating schedule. Eating the same time every day. Routine brings security.

Anyways, I´m confident that you get a handle of the situation, you seem quite open and okay with it and you realised you had to do something.
Keep us updated if you´re comfortabel with it.

Good with the routine.
Stress describes a state of arousal or anxiety, usually in a negative way. Stress isn´t necessarily a bad thing, but it can trigger a shitload of adverse effects, many of which manifest in ways often not directly correlated.

All gibberish aside, your problems with eating are most likely caused by an overreaction that is rooted in something else. But you´re right, that´s what the counselors are for, no good use doing an evaluation over the internet.
Hope I helped a bit though

I've heard of this before, to varying degrees.  Some people have trouble swallowing their food.  Sometimes you get gnarly anxiety when eating in public and can't go through the act of eating.  It's most likely either a psychological disorder or an anxiety disorder.  If you eat at home, can you eat in front of your family?  Does it only happen (you not being able to eat) when you are about to go out (ie. you have something else on your mind)?  If it's a psychological disorder there is a trigger that is setting you off, if it's an anxiety problem it's an event or anticipation of something...you have to narrow down the conditions/triggers that are causing the problem.  Good luck, tell us what your counselers recommend.  And eat your veggies!

I went to the counselor today and she said it was an anxiety problem because its alright to eat at home but before/during going out it happens. And yeah, it does happen with family although not as bad as with friends... but not at home, like at a restaurant or something.

She said i should definitely go to the doctor (when i feel up to it) and he might prescribe me some anti depressents or something like that. And if i want i can have something called "Cognitive behavioural therapy" i think she said. But i didn't feel comfortable at all in the counselors office and im not sure i want to go again it was the most embarassing 40 minutes of my life.

To be honest, I would wait with the anti-depressants. They are handed out too quickly nowadays and many times you can work around them.

Try to find the Psychology Department at your local university or the office of some local psychologists association. They can direct you to counselors who might work better for you. It is really important that you feel cmofortable in the company of the one helping you.

Did she give you an estimate of how much sessions the therapy would take?

She didn't say he would prescribe me anything and yeah i'd rather not be taking anti-depressents because whats the point anyway if i don't like speaking to people. She recommended a charity thing called "Camms" or CAMS i haven't looked it up yet and thats where i'll speak to a psychologist who can give me more help. She's just there to talk about it with someone but i don't want to talk about something as embarrassing as this with someone i do know let alone someone i've never met. She's nice enough and everything but i don't like talking about it and she didn't say how long therapy would be, just go whenever i want to.

I can understand you being uncomfortable. It´s always tricky to talk about intimate things. Try out the Cams thing, you might find someone to open up to. Often it is easier to talk to someone unrelated than to someone close to you like family.
By the way, on the first talk, a good psychologist will understand if you decide not to share everything and that you just want to find out whether you two are "compatible". Take the time and liberty to try a few if possible, cause in the end it´s about you feeling good with it.

I think i said its been getting "better" somewhere here but today i went out most of the day and i could eat breakfast fine (toast and a couple of eggs) and then about 2 hours later right beore i went out i started to feel sick but that went away within 10 minutes as soon as i started thinking about it. Then all the time i was there i had the feeling i was going to be sick still, but no where near as strong or painful as when it started and i even managed to eat there as well (only 2 sausage rolls) and it got worse as i was eating but no where near as bad as before like i said.

If it's just getting better normally then that will mean i don't need to have this therapy thing? I'll have to go and see a counselor next week again since i haven't been back for a second time. I've got to say i'm quite angry and upset about this... i've practically lost 2 years living like this and now its suddenly getting better over a few weeks.

Don´t take a slight getting better as a clue for overall improvement. There will be ups and downs and they might come very quick.
That being said, an improvement is always good, so don´t give up hope. You should keep an eye on your development in that matter though, whether you take a therapy or not.
In case you don´t take the therapy, I recommend you to at least get checked on every few months, be by your trusted doctor or the counselor.
