The small button on mine is the voice button. Big one is weapon swap.
I use the main thumb button on my mx518 for Quicksaving in singleplayer games that tends to crash once in a while (read: Fallout 3 & Mass Effect 1 & 2), and for screenshots in MP games :bFinray wrote:

the only special button i use is the one [on the mamba] where my thumb rests for weapon swap
