Question about moving content to external drive

blademaster: I'm moving to Brazil; +2,075|6904

I tried copying some file which is 11.9 Gigs on to my external and every-time I try to do it I keep getting this:

its an vmware image, which Im trying to copy

also I currently have 77 Gigs free on my external HD please help... anyone thx

I just figured out why, its because its FAT32 I need a NTFS since the file is 11gigs need to break it up or something but thx burnzie

k my question now is it or would it be possible to convert an external drive from FAT32 to NTFS without any implications or problems

yup... or Im at school but yea its hooked up to the labs PC which is using Windows XP but I have like 30 to gigs of data worth on it dont want to lose it or reformat it just change it to NTFS

C:\> CONVERT  C:  /fs:ntfs

After machine re-boot conversion process will start and you'll have your FAT32 converted to NTFS without of data loss.

that's a good question - i'll bet it would work on any drive you wanted it to.

for instance, if blademaster's external drive was named E: then it would look like

you can but i think you have to wipe the drive in the process therefore losing info on it
