Is it possible you set it up when you were high, and it seemed like a great idea to have every channel out there?
seems like the most logical conclusionghettoperson wrote:

Don't pay man. Everyone saying "omg ur guna go to jail!!!1" are full of shit. As long as you did not give them your ID/signature they cannot do anything.
I like how everyone posting not to pay has read their terms and conditions and knows the loopholes for not paying for the services...

I pay nothing. Yet I have HD satellite TV and unlimited 24mbps internet and free phone calls.
So much competition in these markets that you can shop around and exploit the companies instead of them exploiting you like usual.
Back on topic - I had a similar issue with an internet provider several years back. They screwed up their finance system, lost my bank details and after 3 months of taking payment stopped - then 8 months later presented me with a bill for the entire period with a late payment fee on top. I told them to go fuck themselves (which is exactly what I told HMRC last week - which worked wonders, I just shouted at them loads and then two days later got a letter exempting me from some bullshit payment to the DWP).
These things tend only to work if the problem is in some way the other parties fault. In those instances you can get away with a lot. If it's your fault, you're screwed and have to pay them.

I think that would be illegal here

I have FreeSAT HD - which as you might guess is free and my internet is provided free by my mobile provider as an incentive for having my mobile contract with them.
You've gotta love free stuff.
(I actually have two broadband lines - one isn't free, but I get that paid for each month by work because if I use my work phone on my home internet line at any time in a month, the company pays the entire months broadband bill)

I'm pretty sure that does count as credit.
Phonebills count as credit, so I assume cable/internet does too.
Edit: Also, that must've been one shitty connection for $10 a month.

I suggest you pay it, but make sure they are waiving the late fees. I'd get it in writing.
If you don't pay and they report it as bad credit it could cost you in the long run. Other utilities may require deposits when you try to open a new account. That doesn't include all the other ways bad credit could cost you.

ironic, they canceled it today... must've seen this thread. called them and paid it, fags.
@DefCon - I only use it for my Ps3 connection so it works fine.
