It used to be that when I typed an incorrect url or something, firefox would just say "oops can't find it". Now for some reason all my failed urls return to the bing site. How do I stop this?
Firefox? Change your search engine.
Do they make Windows Live Toolbar for Firefox?
My state was founded by Batman. Your opinion is invalid.
- Type about:config in the URL bar
- Where it says filter type keyword.url
- If you want Firefox to say the url is invalid change the value to nothing (ie: Delete whatever the value is and click OK)
- To have it search for keywords (like a google search) in the URL bar enter the value you want into keyword.url:
- For Google: http://www.google.com/search?q=
- For Yahoo!: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=
- For Windows Live Search: http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=
- For Bing.com: http://www.bing.com/search?q=
I don't think so Cheez, only for IE. I did a quick search over at mozilla and didn't find anything.

bing sucks
Tu Stultus Es
Sometimes an ISP will intercept failures where DNS name could not be found and direct you to search page of their choosing (that they get paid for)
Thank you for this insightful insight. You may now leave the thread.eleven bravo wrote:
