I think the new GI would have covered it.  I wish I had known that sucker was changing or I wouldnt have used 2 out of 3 years of it for jr college.

ya when the money lady at the school told me what the govt covered.....and what i was responsible for, i was pissed.

Flight sims are fun, but not anywhere near reality.

Managing the systems tends to be easier in virtual reality.
On a PC, I can dominate dog fights.  In a realistic sim, I can almost hold my own.  In a real plane, I can stay conscious and keep track of 1-2 other things.  (eg. I could stay conscious and watch the other guy, but I had NO idea what's going on in the cockpit or where the ground was!)  It should be obvious that practical experience is a required thing for flying well.
