Sounds like fun. My 6800GT can handle everything on high with 2x AA (I haven't tried 4 yet) but it lags sometimes so I don't think it could handle all ultra high.

Good tip though.
dude, my old x800 pro could run ultra high with 6x AA,  so im sure your 6800 can run it.
also ive been using ultra for sometime, doesnt really look like better textures or anything.  But strangely i get about -10 fps decrease

Fixed it, I had to put it at 4x AA. Doesn't seem all that much different though, and I lagged like hell on MGamers Karkand.

Look for my post and turn off your image resize option in your browser to get true resolution.

I wonder what ultra settings would like with two video cards?

Thoughts.

Whats your framerate?  Because I have a 6800GT and I tweaked the setting down a little bit and can only get around 35fps.  My system can definately handle it (check my sig), just wondering what setup you have.  I have AA off too.

I'm not sure whether my 6600GT could handle ultra high. I play on High now and it's OK.
btw I have 2 GB of RAM.

Thanks to this post I now have all the settings tuned to UltraHigh. As far as I can tell you can only notice it if you have a really really good screen with a high resolution to catch all the extra details it throws in. I'm running at 1600x1200 with a .24 dot pitch so I'm in good standing =)

As for frame rates: Fx-60 + 7900GTX + 7900GTX = 70fps average on a full 64 player.

I don't have screenies (at work) but I did this and it does very little.  In fact, running BF2 at it's highest resolution does little overall compared to the rez just a couple clicks down.  I normally run it at..umm....1280 X 1024 or whatever that setting is.  I run with distance, shadows, AA and everything else maxxed out, though.  Framerates in the 90s normally.

My system specs:

Asus A8N-Premium SLI mobo
Dual Gigabyte Geforce 7800 GTX 256MB graphics in SLI mode
2 GB Corsair TWINX matched RAM
Mirrored 74 GB 10,000 RPM Raptors (boot)
3 X 250 GB SATA II drives in Raid 5 (data, games, etc)
Dual external USB 2.0 Plextor DVD burners
SB Audigy card
21" Dell Trinitron monitor (just can seem to give it up)

LordOfRuin: why only 1280?

But anyway, I noticed little, if any, difference, so I just went back to "high".

And I run:

1600x1200
high textures
high models
high terrian
low/off lighting (disadvantage to have it on)
low/off shadows
np dynamic crap (FPS killer and is a disadvantage)
no AA (makes little difference at 1600x1200)

Alright. I did this a few days ago and after playing for some time, and including first reaction, I didn't see a alot of difference.

Everthing "Ultra High" and 4x AA from 2x AA and everything High, apart from the AA there's no difference to mine.

think a 7800GT with an Athlon 64 3700+ (San Diego Core) and 2 GB or RAM could handle ultra high?

Yeah. My intel 3.4, 2gb of ram and a 6800 gt handle it fine.

As far as I can tell, this game relies more on RAM then graphics card. It's usally the culprit of bad performance.

If you search google, I'm sure you'll find side-by-side comparisons of high vs ultra high. I have terrain detail set to ultra high myself, but don't notice any huge difference vs high. In fact, sometimes it's buggier. Must set it back down...
