im going to bail on VMware and try to dual boot OSX 10.5.7

ive got x86 w7 right now so if i throw in an OSX install CD and in disc utility create a mac extended partition and install it, when i reboot will there be a menu similar to the Vista/W7/XP menu? or will I get a partition error?

64-bit kernel mode?

It's only available in 10.6 and you hold 6 and 4 on boot to enable.

Or you can edit the "/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist" preference file.

To check if the firmware is compatible run this from the Terminal: ioreg -l -p IODeviceTree | grep firmware-abi

Smart ass. I honestly didn't know if you could have a working 64 bit OSX on non-Apple hardware.
