I've seen many modern games use over 2GB RAM already. When you've got less than a gigabyte left for the operating system and other stuff, you might have to resort to swapping to the hard drive, which is very slow.m3thod wrote:

It's better than 2GB, granted.. but look at it this way, currently, with XFire, Steam, MediaMonkey, Opera and a few background apps, my OS is utalising 1.2GB of RAM, and I've tweaked it down a bit by removing shit I didn't need, used to be at around 1.7GB. Now if you try to run that and a game, you're running out of space. BF2 on its own uses almost a GB. So with an unoptimized OS, playing BF2, with only 3GB RAM, then you're using up 2.7GB of your 3GB.. and like Freezer said, page file is really slow.m3thod wrote:
