The trick isn't to place them directly in the path of the enemy (unless they've spotted you and you're running away from them), but instead to place them just around a corner or somesuch. They'll only typically be noticed when it's too late and they get a face full of ball bearings.

Sharqi an the TV tower is a great place to lay them.  You can lay them near the door before the first flight of stairs.  Just place them where the enemy can not see them.  If you look at my crappy ASCII below, the claymore should be placed there with the front facing the door.  You can also do this at the door that goes to the room where the flag is.

This does two things, if the enemy does not see the claymore at the top of the steps, they usally run up them not looking.  Second thing is if they are looking for them by the time the get to the door or top of the steps it is usally to late, and the enemy gets blown up.  Most of the time it is an entire squad that is running up the stairs and you get a lot of kills that way, and if there is a medic in the group (and they do not die),  the group will run into the next claymore after they are revived.

It also helps if you have someone playing support with you.  They can resupply you as you lay down your second claymore.  Just remember that you can only lay down two claymores at a time.

Before everyone flames on how I do not have the expert or even vet explosive badge, I am not saying I am good at blowing people up, just giving some info.

Damnit!  Alright, both of you get on a server I'm on tonight! 

Maybe just to help me take the 3rd floor as SAS and revive me + give me more clays to whore.  Much easier to rack up kills when you don't have to die to get more clays... for some reason, there's almost no Support on that map on either of the two 24/7 Warlord servers I play (addicted 2 games and speedygames).  It's the oddest thing.

Of course, the worst is when I die, almost through the 15 second count and a medic revives me at the last second.  I've really gotta keep that spawn window open from now on.
