Now you know me and History, we dont get on, I cant stand the fucking stuff (no offence), bores the shit out of me.
However, whilst sat on the throne this morning laying some cable some fella pops up on Breakfast News and starts banging on about this momentous battle in 1759 - The Battle for North America / The Battle of Qubec / The French and Indian war or something.
At the time from what I remember the French were the mutts nuts in that part of the world, them and the Injuns were owning the hood until we thought 'fuck this, lets go and fuck these ruffnecks up', so we set sail. 20,000 Geezers sailing across the pond and then up some river which had never been done before, good skills Captain Cook.
What sorted us out that day when it all kicked off was our ablility to fire our fucking Muskets. We could load the lil bastards 3 times in one minute and the French and Injuns didnt have a fucking clue what hit them.
The English lot squated and waited in posistion as the French/Injuns charged and it wasnt until 30 yards away that the cry rang out 'Fucking fire ffs'. They'd been deadly silent like a dogs fart and at the last minute shot the shit out of the incoming enemy. Each gun fired 2 lead balls that went 'splat' straight through the mother fuckers. This epic war was won in a flash.
If this hadn't of happened you lot from N Usa and Canada would be speaking French now. The troops started getting scurvy so they boiled Pine Trees and drank the beer.
Detroit - French
Qubec - French
Louisana - Named after the French King
So dont think Im pulling your leg, Im just giving you a history lesson like you have never had before, Id like to think I make it interesting.
If I have then check out the links I have kindly provided.
