Players who want infantry only games and maps are too unskilled to play the game and need it dumbed down completely for them so they even have half a chance of tricking the world that they are decent at a computer game.

A bit, yeah. I mean SF is a good present for those who prefer infantry, although jets are replaced by choppers in the instadeath category...
I like all kinds though, infantry, tanks, jets etc. If you want infantry only, go play COD2.

Infantry only servers or people who join infantry only servers mainly play it because they hate having to deal with armor or armor spawn whorin so they jump in infantry only servers. I am not grumbling but ill play in any server be it infantry only, air maps or knife & pistol servers. The only servers i would not jump in is any server thats over 40+ players or warlords, my computer wears the pants in this relationship and hates those servers with a passion so i have no choice but to follow in that direction.
try the Night Maps...no one is in a tank or helo..and if they are it won't be for very long... Also Warlord, is a good infantry only map as is Iron Gator.

That is a load of bullshit. First of all, the jets piss me off because of the bitching, moaning, and teamkilling they cause. I prefer infantry only maps, like SF, and I guess I am not as "skilled" as you.$kelet0r wrote:

I think that folk who want to play only "Infantry Only" servers and maps all the time may be suspect of trying to kid themselves that they are good.
But i dont think that just because you may prefer levels such as Mashtuur City, Karkand, and Sharqi that you are kidding yourself.
I mostly prefer those maps because i think that there is more skill involved in close quarter combat rather than jump in a tank/heli/plane and shoot the shit out of everyone. Yeah there is skill in flying a heli and a plane, but it is a different sort of skill. After a while of using armour or aircraft, i get bored because it is too easy to kill folk. This is why i always revert back to staying on the ground with my squad, and killing people the good old fashioned way.

Further, I disagree. Players who want infantry-only games enjoy playing against infantry. That's about the only valid generalisation anyone can really make.

check stats smartass infantry combat its more dificult that vehicle whoring.. theres not much people with positive k/d ratio in small arms, but even a mediocre choper or jet pilot would handle a positive K/D ratio.
I like infantry maps cos i have fun on them, plain simple.

Battlefield 1942 was one of the first FPS that included tanks,planes and even battleships without getting too sim-like.
And since this is still the case in BF2 we have to deal with vehicles,whether we like it or not.
I think that some people would be better off with a flight sim or plain old counterstrike,but BF2/SF/EF has such a variety of maps that everybody's taste can be satisfied.
I sure like infantry fighting,I used to play Tactical Ops in a clan, but I also know that on some maps you just have to take a tank if you want your team to win.
I've seen it so many times,everybody runs out of the base as an assault or the always popular sniper and they friggin' leave the tanks there as welcome gifts for the baserapers.
When you are comfortable with the whole arsenal you can play every map of BF2/SF/EF,if you prefer infantry you will probably stick to SF because Karkand,Sharqi and Mashtuur in rotation gets a little boring.
And EF is basically one sniper/infantry map(Great Wall),and two maps which just scream "Tank Battle"...

"Infantry Only" servers are statpadders - much like "Pistol / Knife / Paddle" Only servers. Both violate ROE!!
