A friend said on FB that their cousin who we both went to Highschool with died over the weekend and how sad they were about it. I asked very nicely how did she die and now everyone is mad at me. Said I should be more respectful of the dead or be more considerate.

Are you not supposed to ask people how other people went or is it one of those time and place type things? Was I wrong for asking?
