Looks much better to have big cap netween green and red line than see them on top of each other.FloppY_ wrote:
That chart Nvidia uses to compare to its competitor is of a HD5870, not a HD5970.. suggesting they will market this as a competitor to the former...GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:
HD 5970 sells for 600€ here, so they aren't exactly going for cheap either. We are talking about a card that is top of the line from NV afterall...FloppY_ wrote:
Knowing Nvidia.. It's a premium...

Not if the green line is twice as expensiveGC_PaNzerFIN wrote:

but 100th reply.
Anyway, on topic, is it looking likely that nVidia's DX11 cards are going to trump ATI's DX11 cards or should I just get a 58xx
They probably will perform better, but at a large premium, the question is, are you willing to pay that premium for the boost in performance? Right now 2x5770 seems like a good option to me.CammRobb wrote:

Practically everyone is expecting them to sell out on launch day, they simply wont be able to meet the demand. You are looking at late april before you get a sniff of them at reasonable prices.IrishGrimReaper wrote:
They could come down in price a few days after release, I bet if the price was €800 people would buy it just for the fact it's Nvidia's new card.
Would love a 470 myself, even sli. But price has to be fair first.

So the top Nvidia is just a bit higher than the 5870 in terms of price and the 470 only ~$10 above the 5850... What are the current rumors around the performance of the Nvidia cards? Roundabout the same as the ATi cards, iirc?

Nope... The manurfacturers did that (e.g. ASUS, Sapphire, XFX, etc.), not ATi / Nvidia themselves...Uzique wrote:
pretty sure ATI did that

Looks like it's literally packed and ready to burst with shit n' shit.
Thats alot of power needed for only a 5-10% performance increase over the 58** cards.Tomshardware wrote:

Internal benchmarks reveal that GeForce GTX 470 is some 5-10% faster than Radeon HD 5850 and similiar for GeForce GTX 480 over the Radeon HD 5870. Interestingly, the TDP of GeForce GTX 480 is almost similar to Radeon HD 5970 which is a dual GPU card. Interestingly, our sources revealed that there are indeed plans for dual Fermi cards and the TDP of the card is probably gonna be mind blowing.
