You're reading the wrong kind of history. Try some of the books written by Harold Lamb. Playing historical games like the Total War series might also spark your interest.1927 wrote:
Now you know me and History, we dont get on, I cant stand the fucking stuff (no offence), bores the shit out of me.
no offense newbie, it's just that '27 has lived so much history . . .
oh you beat me to it.
but yeah read it please kthxbye.
Burnzz has got it right to be fair, and Im more into tomorrow than yesterday. We all have our own interests and this aint one of mine, neither is reading a book. I used to play Medal of Honour though so as far as Im concerned Ive done my bit now.
That explains a lot TBH.1927 wrote:

Yeah my bedroom here is en-suite, and where my telly is has a direct line of site from the toilet, I cant watch it if Im in the shower though, bit of a bummer. I still take reading material onto the bog with me but it does make shitting even more pleasurable. I reccomend it.

what the fuck are you talking about? there is no official explanation of the colors so he isnt wrong. so shut the fuck up.ruisleipa wrote:

Your choice, but if you find one bit of history interesting, chances are you might find other sources that are a lot more inspiring than the tripe fed at school for the past god knows how many years.1927 wrote:

Yeah I know that - Im 34 mate. I didnt feel inspired mate, just thought I would pass something on to you lot, yeah I would of watched it as I was interested, not inspired. Cooking programmes inspire me.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

34 or 43, public ed does a rotten job of instilling interest in history. I fell asleep too, because the lectures were recycled garbage. All names and dates, but no personality and nothing holding it together. The only topic staff seemed really enthusiastic about was MLK month.1927 wrote:

The stars represent the amount of states we have, the 13 stripes represent how many stars our first flag had, the color blue stands for truth, color white for purity(still don't get this one), and finally the color red which represents courage and the blood sacrificed so that we may be a free nation.
Ergo, he isn't right, so he must be wrong. If he'd started his post with 'it seems to me', or 'in my opinion' then it'd be different, but he stated it as fact.wikipedia wrote:

Im not, if I was I would quote you, and wouldnt say please dont take offence.
I dont care if I come across as a girl or a poof, I just hate arguments and fighting. In the past it has bored me so much I have just fucked off, but instead of that I'll close this thread and then I know you will argue elsewhere. I cant stop it, none of us can, but all I can do is ask not to have a go at each other, calling each other names and that.
Finally again Bravo, Im not blaming, or pinning this on you, or anyone else, but it always takes more than one to tango.

WHY WOULD WE BE GRATEFUL, NOW INSTEAD OF HAVING PEACEFUL FRENCH NEIGHBOURS, WE HAVE QUEBEC! The land of seperatists and insane english haters.

We don't get BBC basically (regular cable, no numeric yet for me) I get some specific documentaries from Radio-Can... heu CBC and I perceive the docs from the BBC that are presented from times to times well made. It's too bad I couldn't watch that show you spoke '27, I would have loved it.
We have a historian in Québec that is so good at telling the history. He makes it live in front of you, he's passionate about it and it does show. When history is being told like that, it's very entertaining. I found that it's almost like watching a movie, he fills the picture. I still don't remember the dates in history but the scenes he depicted yes!
At pace51, you'd think the French would have been peaceful neighbors! Pfffft... Sometimes I think they are worst than you English guys. Maudits Français is how we call them!!! + They say we don't speak French!!!
