i cant post a pic now, im in between classes. Basically it looks like a gigantic mosquito bite thats bright red with a small black dot in the middle that is surrounded by dark yellow pus. i lanced it myself last night, i just poked a small hole in it, then i went to the doctor today and they gave me antibiotic pills the size of a fucking grape. The pills are said to be one of the most powerful antibiotics out there, so this shit better work.

well my girlfriend had an outbreak recently of mrsa, and so im pretty sure i picked it up. the sore looks exactly like mrsa, the doctor said he wouldve lanced it if i didnt do it yesterday. he looked at it for a while and squeezed it (which hurt) and said it looked like mrsa, but he didnt do a culture. so instead of doing that he gave me these antibiotics.

Your doctor just gave you antibiotics without doing a culture? MRSA exists because of dickheaded moves like that.

In more positive news, use a hot compress often and within a few days the black 'head' should sort of fall off and it should drain. If not, it might have to be lanced, which is basically what you did but with local anesthetic. I had to have an uncomfortably large one lanced once and they went as far as to offer oxycodone for the pain. Same thing happened with an ingrown toe nail...

yeah, the doctor said that hot compress would work. but what ive been doing is taking a piece of sterile gauze and soaking it in a very salt heavy mixture of water (practically wet salt) and wrapping it snugly around my finger and then taping it. I had one on all day today and the black head is pretty much gone. im going to do it again before bed. whats good though is that the infection is being drawn out and the sore is leaking.
