Can somebody please help or point me in the correct direction.

Myself and two friends want to play bf2 at same house which has adsl connection.  Our connection speed should not be an issue, but we can not log on at the same time.

We all have our one legit copies of BF2.

We have a 4 port adsl router.

I think it a ip issue ?????

Any help appreciated.

you both need your own copy of the game. if u dont the reason one of u wont connect is because your both tryin to access  the game with same serial code and thats what serial codes are for to make sure u buy the game to get your own unique one. u can play offline but but not both of u online.

oh a dont try looking for a keygen cause they may exist but wont let u play online

Yeah we have a iinet broadband 2 account so I dont think speed should be an issue.

We can all get onto the net and play games against each other, transfer files ect ect.

I think it had someting to do with the one ip address??????

Have been searching net and just cant quite find the answer.

well if u all connect to the net and play games against each other already it cant be an ip problem

my only suggestion  is if youve patched bf2 recently it resets its setting on your firewall so try checking that sorry i cant help anymore

Sorry I meant, we can all get on the internet.

We can play games L.A.N.

Transfer files

But can not all go onto BF2, which is why I think it is a ip issue, but not sure????

yeah, turning off your firewalls is something to try, also turn off windows firewall, it might be the security centre blocking the game, if you suspect this alt tab out and it should have a messages asking whether you want to unblock the game.  Im no expert but these are things ive come accross.

I have my ADSL shared with one other computer in the house but its just through a cross over cable, that might be worth a try

Also the routers can be a real pain in the arse, i simply use and ADSL modem and everything runs smoothly

if you can all play a lan game and access the net then u shouldnt have a problem with you ip.

my only suggestion is check your firewall or check any background programs my friends had difficulties from norton anti virus (which he had to turn off so he could play which i thought was a bit stupid) or microsoft antispyware which blocks most stuff for no reason at all.

apart from that search the web

Yeah, I think we will have to get together again for another L.A.N. night and just try a few diff things and get the three of us searching the web for ideas

Well, I don't know if I can help but I had the same issue years before. I have 2 copy of the same game but it won't work cuz the same IP. I did fix it by using a HUB !!! believe it or not lol. Well, if I don't know how your ADSL works but I had Bell Sympatico (Canadian) and when using a HUB, both PC has to connect online using UserID and Password. Also some of the older games, before year 2000...built-in firewalls were making serious issues....
My suggestion is try to get a HUB or a Switch (they should be less then $30) IF you have 4 copies of BF2. I am not sure how your ADSL works but give it a try and let us know if that help

Good Luck .
