Here for French, might be 1-2 little error but that sounds rather right.
Just trying to find a synonym for protecteur which would sound better. Also, wouldnt safety equipment sound better?
Équipement de protection individuel.

We then need to know what reception is from the customer of '27.
Reception for us may also refer to "receiving docks". I do not know the degrees of reception in English. Could the reception be where the "receptionist" is, read the front door? On another hand if I refer to the 3rd sentence the usage of supervisors office show for me like an area controlled.
I've missed a detail when correcting the translation; supervisors at the plural format. If it is, use "bureau des superviseurs."
lol uber definition..... use the non capitalized version; équipement
What's your process '27? Silkscreen? Stamping? Are you using film or imagery today or still the hard hand work of the artist?

Wow 3 pages of help, hank you very much.
Also Jean-Peste is taking an interest in what we do and the process's we use. I will try and answer those questions in a bit. I will also start handing out the Karma in a bit, I told my customer about how I have asked for help in getting the translations, and he was grateful. So thanks from the both of us, I'll show you what the signs look like in .pdf and then hopefullu photo's off them once completed.
I will go through the whole thread and answer any questions raised at me.
Again I am very grateful, a sincere Thank You to all who have helped, if I do miss you Karma out ffs point it out to me. Remember Im limited to 10 a day.

Established in 1912 by my Grandad and his Brother we are now in our 3rd generation of sign making. When my Daughter or Nephews/Nieces are in work with us that puts us in our 4th generation.Jean_Peste_tu? wrote:

90% of our work is done by 'silk screen printing' which apparently I have heard is older than money. The Chinese invented it.
Here is a wiki link with some helpful photo's.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screen-printing
If a customer wants for 20 (eg) of a particular sign we will 90% of the time print these. Perhaps print 40 and put 20 on the shelf. Next time they want the job (they usually do) we just take it off the shelf, and make 100% profit on it. We already made a profit on the first run.
One of our customers, our biggest http://www.scafftag.com/index may require 10,000 of a particular sign. We would screen print them, maybe 10 up on one sheet, and then guillotine them down (putting 50 in at a time), then use a 'corner cutter' to remove the sharp corners. Our customer buys them for eg 18p@, buys a pen, a holder and will sell 10 pens, 10 inserts (the bit we make) and 10 holders for £70. A huge mark up. They buy and sell our goods all over the world to people like Tate and Lyle, Glaxo, Rolls Royce to name a few. We have had loads of people start up a business to try and muscle in but the experience we have keeps us in good stead. Scafftag were bought by The Brady Corporation a few years ago and we started shitting bricks. Brady's already own Signs and Labels (a huge saftey sign company) and we naturally thought 'oh shit thats the end of us then'. However, we can make a better quality product, for less money in less time than one of Scafftag's sister companies. So for now they remain loyal.
The other 10% of our screen printing goes on things like Estate Agents signs, clamping signs, general Health and Safety signs, taxi magnetic signs. In this case we print onto self ahdesive vinyl then mount that onto a magnetic roll and cut it down with stanley knives.
I do get involved in that side of the business but tend to leave it to my Sister and Dad and I'll step in and help where ever possible when asked. I look after the 'vinyl' side of things. For years and years you could only have signs made as Jean asks 'by hand'. This ment painting your letters/logos with a brush 'freehand'. It would of taken me about 20 years to serve my apprenticeship before being fully qualified. I left school not long after computers started cutting the lettering for you out of self ahdesive vinyl in many differn't colours, back then you would have to fit one colour at a time. Nowadays the industry has gone digital. You can scan a photo in, print it in full colour onto s/a (self ahdesive vinyl) and then mount that onto your surface wether it be plastic, glass, magnetic, or even a vehicle. We still arn't digital yet as my ol man is stuck in his ways, we dont even have a frigging website, but just imagine the scope.
A builder comes to me and asks for me to sign write his van.
A lot of people will ask this builder when he submits a quote 'can you show me examples of your work'
Now go back to him asking me to do his van, I could ask him the same question 'can you show me examples of your work' I could take a photo of his proudest job, and stick that photo on his van along with all his other details. next time his customer asks him 'can you show me examples of your work' he can say 'yeah look at my van'.
I should make a thread here of my work, it may interest a few, I have done many famous jobs. Its shit money it really is but its very interesting and it keeps a smile on my face, you never know whats the next customer going to request.
A lot if not all of the fonts I use to make Health and Safety signs dont recognise the symbols/accents.HaiBai wrote:

Do you know of a font that accepts these symbols? A TT (true type) font is fine. If not then I have to manually make the accents myself, not the end of the world as most are repeated so I only have to make them once and then copy/paste where applicable.
I have no idea. I think any standard font you would use in Word supports these, if that's the answer you were looking for.1927 wrote:

The software I use will convert a tt font but I couldnt find one that would bring the symbols with the font. Instead I made the characters/accents freehand. Took 30mins thats all and a lot of thatwas copy/paste. The squiggle under the 'a' was a ratbag but Ive sorted it now, thanks.HaiBai wrote:

Imageshack just laughed at me with some bollocks error message. I dont wanna go opening and converting to a .jpg if I can help it.

My ol man is in work this afternoon (he's 74) when he isnt here he's at home working for us. Him, Myself and my Sister run this place. We employ a further 3 full time and 1 part time staff.
Ive just been and told him and a few of the others about this post, this site, and the help recieved. He'd brought in a load of photo's he'd printed of Polish saftey signs, 'here you are Math, these should help' - bless him, they didnt but he tried.
He did say to make sure I said thank you and to pass on his thanks aswell. 'You trying to tell me a lot of people off the interweb helped you that you havent even met' (well all except the one). 'Yes Dad'. His response 'Thats fucking crazy that is'.
Here's a picture of my ol man saying 'thanks bf2s'

I did want a recent one but my phone aint bluetoothing nothing this afternoon, its being a knob tbh
