Ok so I had some problems with the whole fucking PC a while ago but that all got sorted after I installed vista.
Now the problem is the drivers for my graphics card.

I have GeForce 8800 GS, and the problem is that after the drivers are installed and I boot the pc, all i get is black/white/grey pixels on the screen.
I boot again, go to safe mode, uninstall the driver and restart, it works just fine. That's with windows own drivers that is.

Then it automatically installs the correct drivers again and wants me to reboot, which I don't since I want to get a picture on the screen.

So basically, how can I either install the correct drivers so that I can actually get a picture, or stop windows from automatically installing the correct drivers over and over again?

The only way I can shut the pc down and make sure it's working properly the next time i turn it on is by uninstalling the drivers before i shut it down.

Errr, I don't know if you got the msg but yeah. halp?

First, we all need pants.

download drivers.  make sure they re correct for your OS (ie 32bit vs 64 bit), save Exe to desktop or something.
reboot into safe mode.  run a driver cleaner program (free ones on source forge i suppose)
reboot again, run exe on desktop for drivers as admin
reboot again
profit?

Well first off, don't worry about your English, it's probably better than most native speakers here could come up with

Second, are you sure the drivers you tried to install are fully up to date? Were they for XP, Vista or perhaps 7? 64 bit or 32 bit?

Thirdly, how are you uninstalling the drivers? Just with the windows uninstaller? I'd recommend something more powerful - DriverCleanerPro, hard to get a hold of for free nowadays but it's possible.

Lastly, if none of that works, you could reformat again, this time try Windows 7.

Oh, also you can turn off Windows updates, so that could stop it installing another driver over the one that works.

try contacting the manufacturer and ask "wtf help" ?

maybe try looking for a little older driver, if possible, and see if it does the same thing or actually works

Ok, buy a new computer, format it, install a new card and you should be right.
Otherwise I'm out of ideas.

I recently got a completely black screen when attempting to update my 8600GT driver, resulting in safe mode -> rollback. Installed the second latest driver which worked fine. Weird. Eventually I got the most resilient virus eva so I had to format C, after which I decided to give the newest driver a whirl again. Oddly, it worked.

So Eif, try with the second oldest driver? Maybe that'll work?

I know, as I got pixel errors on the screen as I'm typing.
I'm using an old card simply because the one I had said boom.
And atm can't afford a new one so going to have to struggle for a lil while.
