So what's the dealio with adding personal friends to your list of references (as well as past employers of course)?
I would assume it's a no-no, but what if I've worked with them before, even under them?

With this particular friend I'm talking about, he's a budding independent filmmaker I met in college and have helped out on a bunch of projects he's directed, so he can vouch for my teamwork, etc. Is that ok?

I'm really dying for references here Only have two others so far (would have a third but he didn't respond to my e-mail asking him if I could use him, probably because he hates me; he was one of those uptight school-spirit-to-the-max, super-PC guys who had a huge facade as a happy joyous man; I hate school spirit and I'm not PC at all... still didn't stop me from respecting him as my boss and didn't stop me from doing the best job I could though.)
