No flaming

I hung out with an Israel girl on Monday night. My girlfriends sister converted to Judaism for her Husband many moons ago and I was thinking I really don't know too much about there religion. I"m going to type what I know and I"m looking for more information.

1. A person can become an Untouchable which means that people of the opposite sex can't touch them.
2. They can't use electricity Friday night to sun down Saturday
3. A married woman can't show her hair
4. they can't mix meat and cheese
5. they have different plates for Meat and cheese.
6. Joke "their food sucks"

Ok that's pretty much my knowledge on the Jewish religion, now as I said no flaming and tell me more..

I know nothing about the Jewish people outside of maybe 2-3 friends in college and the movies.

Well I guess the actual Jews. "Regular Jews" lax on alot of what they're suppose to do. Like I said when I brought the girl out on Monday, we went to my local bar and she wouldn't shake hands and said "I'm religous".

I also know they have something like 360 rules they need to follow, but I don't know what they are and don't feel like googling it.

not sure about #2. they use their garage door but idk about anything else. their house is always dark

What happens if a person does touch an Untouchable person? Does one or the other explode in a fireball? Or do they have a forcefield around them which literally prevents the opposite sex from touching them?

I don't know about the touching thing. My Sister in law(shorter to write) hugged me on monday which is a holiday..

Wow I thought bf2 people would know more about the religion. Also John there are tons of Hasidics and Practicing "Jews" in New york..

I don't have any problems with them, but I don't exactly dig all the rules that they have to follow.

true, 9/10 jews I know (and trust me, I know a LOT more than 10) don't follow the rules (excluding non-Kosher). 8/10 jews I know do anything, regardless of the rules.

Actually I know a bunch who follow maybe 2 holidays. But my sister-in-law live by the rules, that's why I want to know what they are.

The poor woman got into it because of her husband and it's negatively effecting there lives, big time.
