DFI Ultra-D
AMD Opty 170
XFX 7900GTX
WD Raptor 74GB
OCZ Powerstream 520w

I just built my new system last night, and finished it up today. I installed BF2, SF, Patches, and EF. I got into the game, set everything up, exited, and went on my merry way.

I then attempt to play it tonight and when I double click the BF2 icon, the screen goes balck - and stays black, until the point where the game isn't responding. If I Alt+Ctrl+Delete then I get the error (Send/Do Not Send Error), talking about the bf2.exe and szModPath: hungapp - or something like that.

I uninstalled EVERYTHING. Cleaned the registry using CCleaner AND manually. I then install it again. Same thing happens, except there is no getting in once as I did before. Now I can't get in the game at all.

I uninstall it, go through the process again, but this time after every step I run the game. After initial install - everything was fine. I installed SF and tried to run it - It takes a LONG time to load up the EA Logo. It basically goes into a not responding stage, then pulls itself out of it.

From this point I haven't gone any further in installing patches etc.

So far I have:

Changed video cards
Changed SATA ports
Tried different CD-Rom drives

Nothing above worked.

I have NO problems running other programs at all.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

No message. It just prompts me saying:

Battlefield 2 has cause an error: Would you like to send information to microsoft . . . blah blah blah.

When I click details I see:

bf2.exe and szModName:hungapp

I am going from memory as I shut the system down tonight. If you want an EXACT error - I'll post it tomorrow.

BTW, just curious - how long does it take you to load up BF2 and get to the log in screen? Starting from the time the splash screen pops up (right after you boudle click the icon).

My other PC, which is a tad different than the new build is taking the EXACT amount of time to load the game, doing the EXACT same thing - yet it NEVER took this long . . . I'm wondering if a new windows update screwed me over . . .

If you have some way of using a stopwatch, and timing it, and posting your specs, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks!

I would recommand you to check your RAM with Memtest and see if there is any error. I think you have updated ALL of your drivers, if not, do it. I also have this problem, when I click BF2 icon, it takes a while to see the EA splash screen but not always. Anyway do that Memtest first, you should do the test at lesat for 6 hours. So do it before you go to bed.

Good Luck.

It might be your power supply. They perform worse at higher temps.

Glad to hear your up and running.

Heh, when I first installed it I did that, just making sure it wasn't something simple.
