I just recently upgraded my computer to Windows 7, and my old USB modem isn't compatiable, I contacted my ISP and they sent me a new router to use. However Windows won't detect my onboard LAN adpater (Asus P5 QL PRO) I've tried it on both Windows 7 and XP tried all the latest drivers etc but no joy. After searching about a fair few people seem to be having similar problems but there seems to be no firm solution.
So I was thinking the easiest solution would be to buy a PCI adapter (I would prefer to stay with a wired one) my main questions are will I need anything else as well the card to get it working and has anyone got any suggestions on which one to buy?

Might be that the mobo LAN driver needs to be installed separately. That's the case with my AsRock at least.

Yeah tried the drivers on the mobo disk and off the net, and when I try to install them it says that it isn't detected

check the bios. Is the LAN adapter enabled?

Yep as I say I've had a good read around and check everything pretty much that it suggests, it definately enabled and there even one of the lights on at the back, it's just not detedted at all. Any suggestions on the second part of my dilemma as in what to get as a replacement?

any PCI or PCIe adapter will do. That's all you'll need. Well, a cable too

Just one more thing that one I linked will work ok with Win7 won't it? It's just it's not listed in the specs.

If it's the first version, there will be no drivers for it.
