actually binge drinking culture is much much worse in america, especially in the 18-25 young adult bracket. people go crazy with that shit over there at frat parties and college when they turn 21. the lengthly prohibition just creates a volcano of alcoholic angst. teenager's approach to drinking in the united kingdom hardly changes at all between non-legal and legal ages, because it's such a casually acceptable and easily attainable thing, anyway.
Eh, I toned down my drinking a lot after I turned 21 It's not as fun when it's legal.
It's implicitly legal at 18 here at Yale and everyone seems to have a lot of fun drinking.
what are you talking about? It might be legal to drink but it might be illegal to possess and it's definitely illegal to purchase.

They have to get their quota of wine mixers into the social calendar so Yalies can cement their place in the socialite world after graduation. Can't have their graduates looking like fools when they can't tell a cabernet sauvignon from a Bordeaux, now can they?

'binge drinking' is drinking for the sake of drinking- imbibing a week's worth of units in the space of a night; making a social occasion out of drinking rather than having a social occasion with drinking; excess and intoxication to the point of illness or inability/disability; to have a 'binge' on 'drink'.
This is the major problem we have. All I see is people who's goal is to consume as much alcohol as possible for the least amount of money (likely Keystone *shudders*). In the past semester, I don't believe I've seen one person have just one drink of an alcoholic beverage, they always blow way past that.

get a bottle of goldschlager, tell her it's worth like 2000 dollars, trade it for a quick fuck

I'd probably go get disinfected by a CBRN team after though, wouldn't be surprised if she's crawling with filth

I wouldn't call it as a "Major Problem".

The recession is a major problem. Iran is a major problem. Terrorism is a major problem.

I'm confused? What right do they have?

If she's doing something illegal I can see her getting tried for that, but drinking isn't illegal. That's really fucked up and I bet she starts smoking the pot, or doing heroin.

Probably a bigger problem than Iran.

Destroying a countries society is very serious, and that is precisely what this is doing.

Personal opinions and emotions aside, people spending their money on taxed and legal alcohol at the weekend isn't one of the bigger problems we face. Society can be made up of out of touch politicians, hooded and armed cunts and terrorist sympathisers, as long as they're paying tax then the world still spins.
on the ABQ, NM news last night i saw a story on how they are banning the sale of alcohol to people with the special note on their ID --- resulting from DUI's.. if they have one of those breathalizers in their car(in order to start them) they not cannot go to a liquor store and buy booze anymore.

You obviously have similar perception issues. Quite funny, honestly.

Lel, I meant that no one gets in trouble for it. The worst that happens is a MIP if they sting you outside a liquor store, but thatonly happens when someone dies of alcohol poisoning (i.e. infrequently.) De jure  =/= de facto.

Ah well yeah, most cops in areas with universities know that 'kids will be kids' and they'll only arrest you if you're being a public menace or something.

And yep I had to fire every neuron to come up with that one. Lighten up, jeeze. You only live once.

because all of your writing is covered in such a blanket of uniform verbiose-shite that nobody even cares to try and detect minor fluctuations or nuances in tonality or style. you write terribly, to be honest. it's like a bad cliche of what one would consider 'formal' or 'academic' prose. it conveys nothing of emotion or intent. you are probably the most insipid poster on this forum. that is why everyone assumes you are serious. and a dick.
