More Pacific maps!

Spearhead: Gulf coast redneck hippy; +731|7161|Tampa Bay Florida

Anyone else wanting these maps for BF2? I think Wake Island is cool and everything (it's my most played map, I've got about 100 hours on it) But I think the setup of the map kind of limits some dimensions of gameplay, such as infantry. Example, infantry can properly defend a CP, but because the CP's are so far apart, it's not really your standard infantry based map. A map like Guadalcanal would be similar, yes, but it would be more infantry oriented, because of the sloping hills and mountains. Plus I think it'd look great with the new BF2 engine, so they could finally add some grass on the hills and make it look kinda like The Thin Red Line.

Maps I'd like to play on (ranked, of course) :

Guadalcanal
Midway
Invasion of the Phillipenes

Got any other ideas? I saw on some other threads people were talking about submarine warfare. That'd be a nice addition.

I hate Wake Island. I only find it fun as USMC if we manage to get onto the island. As Chinese, I only like it if the US gets on the island or testing my sniper skills on the poor marines spawning on the artillery island.

I'd like to see an island hopping map without jets or attack helicopters, kind of like Zatar Wetlands but with a more urban feel to it.

Maybe not pacific, but maybe urban combat in the middle east (like real life) where the US would go into a town with just squads of men and no vehicles. Would love to see all infantry maps. Maybe humvees and maybe only 1 apc or tank say if the men needed an enemy position blasted away

Wake Island - manueverable escort vessel given to USMC
USMC vs PLA, Alaska
USN vs PLAN, Mouth of the Columbia River (WA/OR)
JMSDF (Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Forces) vs PLAN, Pacific navy map
USN vs PLAN, Midway
MEC vs PLA, mountains
PLA vs VPA (Vietnam People's Army)
ARNG (Army Nat'l Guard) vs Insurgents, Anytown, USA

There needs to be a Somalia map so people can reinact Black Hawk Down. That'd be so kick arse awesome!

And yeah, I reckon US maps would be cool too. I'd like a really big city map with skyscrapers and stuff.

a new map called strike at tartland, its a red light district with hoes n things. its a dark map but street lights light it up, most of the lights are red. THAT WOULD BE COOL

Ef vs Russia in northern parts of Norway. 3 dif maps
US vs PLA in Alaska (as mentioned above)
Russia vs PLA in Tibet

Snowmobiles and skiing would be über :-)

hell to the yeah. islandhopping with some RIB's would be nice. the boats would need some serious armor OR speed tweaking, otherwise anybody with a MG will pwnerize all 'boaters'.

Definately some more pacific based maps, us aussies like the warm Pacific especially for BF2

We need maps based around:

The Kokoda Trail, (infantry based with much steep terrain and some bunkers
Guadalcanal (with some boat based invasion type stuff similar to wake island
The Fall of singapore (WW2 greatest british tradegy with all vehicles and urban combat

Got any other ideas? AUS

nah wot we need is a map set in my good ole home country of ireland, there cud be guiness factorys and and tayto factorys, it cud be like the MEC have sided with the South and the USMC with teh North, and they fight across the border, hmm maybe i have drank too much but, let me know what you think

i would love to see the enitre 1942 game remade with the bf2 engine, i think it would look amazing. but yes i wish we could have some more of the old maps in bf2.
