This happened ~11 months ago.
I was riding my BMX bike while doing a manual (pretty much a wheelie without pedaling) on a patch of grass to a parking lot; it had a very small ditch on the edge (the top layer of concrete had broken off), so when I rode over it, my front tire got up higher in the air unexpectedly. I lost control, my handlebars turned 90 degrees to the right, the front tire landed, and the bars jabbed me in my stomach as the bike came to a standstill. The rear tire then got kicked up - I was then slung off the bike. I landed on my left side of the body, on my fingernails on both of my hands, my shoe came off. I rolled once on my hands and came to a stop. My left hand thumb's fingernail was angled to the left, so half of it, from the root, had torn out to the right side, and it had been pulled out a bit. I managed to walk to an AutoZone (nearest shop) with my friend, and asked for a paper towel. I had probably had a concussion and I couldn't stand up any longer, because I had the most overwhelming feeling to lie down and fall asleep... so I lied down, and my friend somehow managed to keep me awake. My friend's mom came to keep me calm till I went to the ER to get two stitches in my dead fingernail that eventually fell off (took about 6 or so months to pretty much completely heal back). I had so much adrenaline going in my body that I couldn't help but hysterically laugh while I waited for my sister and brother in-law to come and take me to the ER.
