Prolly the best beaches in the US. I'll put Siesta key up against any. It's quiet, the sand is like powdered sugar.

With the exception of Sun City most of those are South of Tampa.. say around the Ft. Lauderdale area.

IIRC Tampa was named one of the best places to live in the country for 20 something year olds.

I voted Fort Lauderdale 'cause my cousin lives there and it's the only place I actually kind of know even a little bit.

I stood in line for four hours. They better give me a Wal-Mart gift card, or something.  - Rodney Booker, Job Fair attendee.

Lots of times. I remember playing in Soccer tournaments out there.

Ig, once you've been here a month you'll want beaches like this. Uncrowded, peaceful, clean.
The only beach in the US that beats it out is a beach in Hawaii. Clicky
Harvard University's geology department found the sand of Siesta Beach was 99% pure quartz. Unlike most beaches that are composed of crushed shells, rocks or lava, this sand is pure white and finer in texture than most refined sugar. The sand has been described as "dazzling" and it is stated that it never feels hot. Siesta Key's remarkable sand and the azure, warm water of its beaches are a great attraction for tourists and local beachgoers alike who come to experience the sand and the water.
