Ok, well as the topic says my new computer is almost done. I just order an X2 3800 and ordered my ASUS AN8-E nForce4 Ultra board last friday. Now has anyone heard anything about the 7600GT. They are new on the market and are suppose to replace the 6600GT. I already have 1GB of OCZ dual channel, would I need to buy a 2GB kit? I mean it takes me for ever to alt-tab now with my 3200+ XP. Thanks for any help.
well 2 gigs would help, but out of all my games only bf2 and HL2 seems to load faster with 2 gigs
games: quake 4, Css, cs1.6 , dods , Fear, and garrysmod

2gbs is uncomparable to 1gb. It is sooo much better. More so if you're coming from 512mb.
I recently increased from 1 to 2gig and even though it is cheap generic RAM, i noticed a difference with load times.
The extra ram will help the switching speed of currently running applications and take a load off the processor.
The 7600GT... I read on some tech forums that it has bugs, but it may not be the GT models.

Also if anyone has a x2 could they post if the installation of windows xp was buggy or if the buggyness does not show till after the install. I was told that till you update windows it does not run well with dual cores.
i didnt have any problems when installing windows or after, have you tried installing the smp update?
Well I have not getten the CPU yet, but just pre-paring for it.
