i fucking love my university libraries: got old hogwarts-style classics-arts-languages library and a super-modern open plan plate-glass library. both are
i wasnt just insulting people again for the sake of its own banality; i was pissed off that i cant even recommend some books that may be of people's interest without some "omg i cant believe i like them, i must be a douche like uzique" or "lol drug addiction lol" posts. fuck off. i have no problem discussing personal or irl-stuff here, but when a bunch of faceless social-retards (read: FM) feel the need to ruin their mod-integrity and be cunts, then im going to respond to it.

There are workstations dotted around all over the place at uni (in the "entrance halls" of most buildings, along random corridors, etc), so I just tend to use those (or I have my laptop with me). Also, it's only a 10min journey to and from uni, so I pretty much always come home between lectures.The Sheriff wrote:

Alright, here's the idea. How about tactical guides? By this, what I mean is, guides on how certain aircraft and vehicles, armies, etc. use certain strategies to complete the objectives. For example, for the AH-64, I would write how an OH-58 Kiowa goes first behind cover to scout the territory, and then, after it aqcuires a target, it waits behind a house or hill until the apache's show up and destroy the target.
Or, how the AH-64's main attack strategy involves hiding behind a hill, waiting for a tank to pass, and then taking it out with the hellfire.
In other words, tactical guides and battle strategies.
Also, I would write how to implement these startegies into video games,and the like.
And yes, I'll write one RWF guide about the BF-109

@liq: i find working at home a perpetual distraction. too many comforts and luxuries. something about the atmosphere and ambience of my hogwarts-style library inspires... scholarly thought. it's like you get yourself into the performative role of being a serious student and then you think, research and write in that mode far easier. at home, im just too relaxed. you should try it, even if you think it's a pointless exercise.
@sonder: yah, cheers. like i said: some people (especially FM) are so pumped on ego that they can't even admit taking a recommendation or being shown something; they, in their insecurity and inferiority-complex, can't even admit to liking or receiving something well without hedging-comments and shitty attitudes. FM, some people know more than you. some people are more widely-read than you. sit down and shut up.
@pace: if you're gonna go one step further than collating information and research from textbooks for guides - to then try and discuss 'tactics' and operation in theatre, then PLEASE try and pass ideas by the veterans here before publishing. it stands to reason that they're gonna get pissy when some textbook-digger then tries to post with authority on how the things are used. most of them have probably fired/shot, travelled in/piloted/driven or enacted some of the 'tactics' you're gonna try to write about.
