- What do the snipers here have their mouse DPI at?
Hmm,I have the Razer Copperhead and you can assign buttons with it how you like them to be.
You can either have the on-the-fly-sensitivity with pressing a button and using the mousewheel or you can assign fixed DPIs to a button.(and a lot of other useful stuff, this mouse rocks!)
I have set the side buttons for DPI,one button is 2000 dpi for action and fast close combat, the other button is 800 dpi for prone sniping.( I used to play with 2000dpi and a rubber mousepad all the time, the teflon feet were still fast on the rubber but when I placed a finger from the mouse on the pad it totally stopped. But this is much better.)
And I have a key assigned as firebutton, when firing long range shots you won't shake in the moment of firing and miss if you use this technique.

I actually just got a Copperhead since I would really like to have more buttons on my mouse. Still in the box. Actually, I wish logitech would put the scroll wheel on the side of the mouse since I never use it in game and put an extra button on the top like the 3-button mice had in the old days. I owned at quake with one of those things.
Kind of like this, but not as expensive and clunky looking.

At least sometimes I say something usefull, where as yours contain more bollocks than a dressing room full of men.
Then why don't you use the scrollwheel as buttons too?ckaplan wrote:

If you remove the wepaon-toggle-cycle from the wheel and assign other functions you basically have 3 buttons, wheel up,wheel down and middle button. I know people from my old clan who used wheel up as firebutton, the AK-47 in TacOps was a real rapist when you fired it like that.
And leaving the Copperhead in the box is a little sin,you don't know what you are missing. It is like I always wanted my mouse to be.
Set up the mouse and have a practice round versus bots, after a short period of fine-tuning you'll be surprised how accurate you can aim,no more jumping over pixels, minimal handmovement required, you'll see.

I use my G5 at 2000 only for when im in a tank. As for sniping i have middle at 800 and bottom at 550. Have to be honest though i tend to mainly use it at 800 - seems to work well enough for me
Its 2/5 Shots he missesTodd_Angelo wrote:
Just a normal optical mouse here.Actually don't you miss only about four shots in ten... that is what ~60% accuracy for the sniper rifle means doesn't it?Nyte wrote:
I tend to miss maybe 1 out of 4 shots using my sniper dpi setting.
Most of the time mine is at 800, but when zoomeed in 400 helps with very long range shots. 2000 is helpful for tanks etc. I tried 2000 with a chopper - yea, that wasn't a good idea...
I tried flicking between mouse settings, but it got annoying, so I just leave it at medium.
i keep mine on 2000dpi all the time, chnaging the dpi doesnt really do anything for me except slowing my kill, i have a g5 btw.
I don't use an Optical Mouse.... and I play Lefty.
