So you got the second n third ones?
Personall I'd say play them in the right order, not game chronological. I got well into clear sky, but then it borked
Some hugely frustrating bugs can occur in the games, but awesome games when you get into them.
err fuck that. the molten magma of the reactor was melting the concrete floor of the reactor-room, underneath there was pools of water. if 1400 grams of the molten-material had touched the water through the cracks, then a 5 Megaton nuclear explosion would have followed, destroying everything within 350km and making all of Europe uninhabitable.
russian inadequacy and chernobyl scare the fuck out of me.

wonder what the science behind the molten fissile material/swimming pool nuclear explosion is... cos I find that hard to believe with what I know about reactor grade uranium compared to weapons grade, i dunno lol
and yes the documentary does make me want to play STALKER. it's been a long while since i properly immersed myself in a single-player title like that; and it takes a very good fucking game to completely immerse you and entertain you, too. too many bugs in STALKER the first time around: some people don't have a problem with downloading tons of mods to alter their gameplay, but when you have to rely on tons of third-parties to even make the game playable... generally a signal to me that it ain't worth my cash.

Play for like an hour, shit gets quality! First one gets better and better as you go thru. Mutants are so much better than nadits to fightCammRobb wrote:

lol hydrogen bomb has nothing to do with water
what should i eat? first decent suggestion wins
weapons grade uranium aint even close to the fucking plutonium isotopes they used in these early russian reactors. im not sure why the explosion would happen because im not a nuclear scientist but the threat was confirmed by Hans Blix (the nuclear committee leader) and gorby himself. so it can't be exaggerative. they immediately reacted by dumping loads of lead into the hole, which plugged it nicely and prevented the disaster- but sent tons of lead radiation into the atmosphere (because it fused with the molten lava) which is still giving ukrainian kids cancer today. small trade-off i suppose. what's funny is that several meters below the entire construction was an aquifer which contained ground-water to supply most of the entire eastern-european region. if the lava had continued seeping through several meters of ground sand/rock, then it would have been another disaster entirely. was a really precarious and fucking haphazard operation, i tell you. those soviets were crazy.bennisboy wrote:

flaming: the fusion of the molten and highly unstable nuclear material with the hydrogen in the water WAS the hypothesized cause for an explosion. stop being such a smarmy cunt. the shit was hardcore. miners called in to clean up afterwards died if they ingested even one grain of radioactive-exposed sand. they didnt give any workers/volunteers any protective equipment, nor any proper information about their dangers. fucking insane. days afterwards there were may day communist parades in ukrainian cities, hundreds of miles away. the radioactive cloud gave thousands of people in the cities cancers and leukemia's that killed off tons and tons of people.

the amount of energy from the molten reactor could cause shit to go crazy reaction wise.
