All you have to do is hit the UAV once, and it will lose all of it's health in 4 seconds. It's a really good thing to know since they can really screw you and your team over so easily.

I hate how you can't shoot those damn things down with AA without getting lucky. I hope they add the ability for AA to be able to lock on to UAV's.

Errrr are you sure it wasn't just flying back to base as it were......? It only lasts "a few seconds" if you DON'T shoot it lol.

i always thought whne it has finished scanning the area it just blows up .. im fairly certin on that

Never play Iron Gator ? Anyone ? MEC's UAV doesn't last long, that's for sure ! Gatlins always shot it down very quickly.
I posted last week about shooting the UAV. I see a ton of posts, I have tried again and again and all I see is the UAV explode after its done what its intentions were. I believe your bullets have nothing to do with it evaporating. I may be wrong. I just haven't experienced what everyone else on these forums claims to have done.
If it IS possible to dispatch the lowly UAV, AA should be able to lock on to it.
edit: After re-reading posts I have determined anyone claiming to have shot down a UAV is full of shit.

UAV can be shot down, have launched it as Commander and it disappears seconds later, and no the ground assets were not touched. Shot at the damn things myself, but never got lucky, just announced my presence with the G3.
Or Jihad Jet the bloody UAV .... damn if it gave u 5 points...i would do that
but normally...fuck the plane pre 1.2 it couldnt been seen...so why bother shooting it now? and i think its actually handy in case if ur afraid to get ur ass blasted away by arty...or as a sniper to be spotted via the minimap of the enemy players

i flew into one in a j10 on wake and that took it out i turned to avoid AA fire and there it was left me with 3 bars of armour
and the scary sound of beeping

Not possible. Where are the points? Where is the lock-on? Why waste your time? Move from under it since it is made of all godly material that everyone but myself can shoot down.

I've shot down the UAV from the .50 cal on an FAV. It's possible, but it definitely takes more than one hit.
