While leaving my laptop for about 30 minutes the screen shut off, which isn't supposed to happened, and it froze. After I restarted it flashed a blue screen and began a restart loop. In safe mode it stops loading on crcdisk.sys

I tried to boot from cd but twice while trying I have gotten the bsod and the other times it doesn't load up.

If I make a linux live usb should I be able to get on and access the files I need to get them off?

The hdd is a month old, the old one failed, and it shouldnt have had problems.. The laptop itself is less than a year old.

Help.

use the live USB to get the data off. Reformat. Hope that it's just a software problem.
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Ok, so I got linux live and got all the important files off. The problem is it isnt loading from the vista disc. It loads the files which takes a couple minutes, then it takes about 10 minutes for the screen to install or repair windows appears, but after that it doesnt load either option. I left it on for a couple hours and it did nothing.

Go back into Linux, open the partition manager and reformat it there, then try the Vista CD again.

Check the DVD for any surface or deep scratches.

Well the dvd had some surface scuffs from when i was installing it before, but i got Vista installed fine. The problem now is that about every 4 seconds the computer stutters   It's bearable for now but makes video and audio useless
