i really dont wthink its worth shooting the thing down... it lasts for a short period of time anyways... seriously now, wouldnt u rather have more fun pwning noobs with tubes

Sorry to ruin your day but the UAV is an easy target for Jet,Chopper,MEC-PLA AA Vehicle or Essex AA. Other guns can weaken it but takes a group effort for ground troops to kill it.Mason4Assassin444 wrote:

This is my opinion.
First of all, by the time you notice the UAV and attempt to shoot it, it'll probably be the last few second it remains in the air. It doesn't fly off, it ALWAYS will explode. Maybe EA wanted you to think that some strange force shot it down, or maybe it has a self destruct. Who knows?
Also, it IS possible to shoot down a UAV. If you lead enough, a few rounds from a mobile AA should do the trick. If that doesn't work, just ram your jet into it...you wont take too much damage.

Your definatly able to shoot those damned things down shot one down on the back of a vodnik on the 50....was on wake island and the commander dropped the UAV on the nirth side of the island at the start of round...definatly takes more than one hit and u know your doing the job rigth when u see it starting to smoke
I shoot down UAV's as soon as I spot them. FAV...tat..tat..tat! Done deal.

I did it with the Essex chain gun, it was Dalian and we were down to the carrier, so the enemy commander kept placing the uav on us, I shot it down about 3 times, after that he stopped. Sorry I don't have any screenshots but believe me it can be done. You just need a phat enough gun!
Yeah, I took a few pop shots at it with a pistol, no dice. It takes probably something mounted or something that does PKM damage to hurt it.

You want to try to hit it with the main weapon. The pistol doesn't do much to it. Just take a shot at it with your main weapon (Unless it's your sniper rifle) and it should blow up in about 2-4 seconds.

Start your own server, any map that has the Essex on it. Take commander and get into the AA gun, put the UAV over the deck and shot the damn thing down. You have to lead it a small amount, if you aim right at it you will never hit it because by the time your bullets get there it will have moved.

A few weeks ago a video was posted here of some guy actually getting out of a helicopter and riding the UAV...he then C4'ed it and it exploded. Don't remember where the video is, but I'm sure others saw it and can also bear witness to the UAV's vincibility.

Next thing I know it has dissappeared, and there was still at least half of the UAV cycle time left for it to regenerate. Usually it only disappears a couple of seconds before you can use it again, so I think it was definitely shot down in this case

Just to throw this in here. Could your UAV trailer have been destroyed? And correct me please if I am mistaken but depending on how much a UAV trailer is repaired, it will function for different amounts of time.Agrocasey wrote:

Instead of thinking "shoot down MEC cow heli", think "shoot down MiG-29". With the SAW and a UAV directly above you more or less, shoot about 1cm in front (17" monitor at 800x600, adjust distance for yours).

I accidently rammed one with a chopper, it just appeared in front of me so cmdr must of launched it. Went straight into me, it blew up & a died with it getting a - point for a suicide death.
