Seems the only good unis over here for science are the russell group ones, everything else is either an ex polytechnic or full of shit.
Though the worst unis i've been to are Durham and Bristol, full of bitter failed oxbridge candidates.
Dont get this whole Ivy league thing either, do you have grass league and tree league etc? Sounds too much like pokemon for my liking.

I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.

Not looked at that, too late now though, made my choices and the deadline was an hour and 43 minutes ago :\

#edit: just had a look and theres some decent ones in there, not sure about the uni of essex though, know some people who got in there on clearing with some very very low grades, must be pretty good for some specialist subject then.

Bristol
Glasgow
Birmingham.

Went for the ones that were best for Physics and had a decent looking student life.
Chose kings as first choice and birmingham as insurance.

kings is nice, i declined an offer there cause i couldnt handle the city life but it's really nice. ironically considering kings and ucl as options for master's degree. have a friend doing maths/physics at birmingham- typical city university. party mad, strong student scene- lots of average johns.

Didn't like Imperial, wanted better grades than Cambridge/Oxford, and if I could be bothered to put in all the effort for those grades then I'd choose Oxbridge, purely for the name/reputation more than anything.

I almost went to GA Tech when I was still living in the US. I had definitely planned on getting my master's in Computer Security there (still might depending on how the next few years go). As it is now I am studying at the University of Technology Vienna (Technische Universität Wien; sounds so much better in German! ).
